USHERING DEPARTMENT

PREAMBLE

The ushering department of Christ Love Evangelical Ministries was established at the inception of the ministry about fifteen years ago. The importance of the ushering department in any church organization where orderliness is desired cannot be overemphasized, as it is obvious that where there is no orderliness, there would be chaos. GOD himself is orderly, even in creation. Gen 1: 1-31 .

The organizational structure of the department is such that there are Executive members comprising of the Chief Usher, Assistant Chief Usher, Secretary, Treasurer, Financial Secretary and the members.

OUR AIM
Our aim is to serve God and create image that will be pleasing to God for the ministry.

OUR GOAL
Our goal is to make CLEM most comfortable for everyone that has come to worship and serve God.

To ensure that whoever is on the Altar is not distracted in anyway, during the course of his/her ministration.

To ensure that we play our role in ensuring that people are fulfilled each time they come into the presence of God.

HOW TO ACHIEVE THESE GOALS

(a) By showing love to all guest and members.
(b) By ensuring adequate and conducive sitting arrangement for all.
(c) By ensuring that guests and members are admitted into a clean environment.
(d) By restricting the movement of guests and members to the barest minimum during the course of ministration.
(e) By ensuring that we pray for ail members and guests that are ushered in, as regards to salvation, deliverance and blessing.
(D By conducting ourselves in a manner that glorifies Christ as regards to dressing, conversation, and meeting.
(g) Making available all necessary literature (Bible, tracts, hymn books, forms, etc.) during divine services and meetings.
(h) By acting and behaving in ways that will make all CLEMITES and guests to looking forward to yet another opportunity to worship in CLEM each time they come.
(i) By representing and identifying with the purpose for which CLEM was established by God by our conduct and conversation with people in and outside the church. "We are products of God's love therefore we shall show forth love"

RULES AND REGULATIONS

(1) An Usher must dress modestly and smart.
(2) An Usher must be cheerful and always put on a smiling face.
(3) Usher must be strict but polite.
(4) Usher must be vigilant spiritually.
(5) An usher must collect offering during service unless otherwise instructed by the Chief Usher.
(6) An Usher must distribute decision cards for new converts and first timers.
(7) An Usher must be in church at 8:30am every Sunday. (8) During any occasion in the church, must be ready to serve in any capacity.
(9) Usher must be disciplined and orderly.
(10) During ministration, an usher must help to carry those who fall under the anointing.
(11) Members of the Ushering Department must care for one another.
(12) Distribution and collection of hymn books.
(13) An Usher must be diligent and faithful.
(14) Recording of Tithes and offerings and giving it to the Accountant and also giving a copy to the Pastor-in-charge.
(15) An usher must take attendance at every meeting.
(16) An Usher is an image of the church and the first contact with a first timer; hence he/she must present himself/herself as a good image maker.
(17) An usher must welcome members and take them to their seats.
(18) The usher must ensure a good impression of his/her self.
(19) An usher must see himself/herself as a servant rendering service to the lord.
(20) An usher must not tone his/her body.
(21) An usher must be moderate in all his/her doings including dressing.
(22) An usher must cover her head during all meetings in the church.
(23) Every first Sunday of the month an Usher must put on native dress (optional but desirable).
(24) A first timer who does not cover her head must be counseled after the services.
(25) An usher must attend every meetings e.g. prayers meetings, bible study, Sunday services and vigil-3 rd thur of every month.
(26) During major programmes, an Usher must come 30 minutes before commencement of such meetings.

OUR ACHIEVEMENTS
God has been so wonderful to us in the ushering department. We thank Him for the unfailing love, strength and divine ability towards all members. There is no doubt about the fact that the department has witnessed tremendous progress compared with the time we started. We believe God is still taking us to higher heights. We believe he is the lifter of our heads. Psalm 3:3

Another great achievement in the ushering department is unity. We thank God for his love that bind us together. We can move mountains. Gen 11: 1-6. In verse six the bible recorded it this way,
"And the lord said, behold the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do; and now nothing will be restrained from them which they have imagined to do" (KJV). The Ushers in CLEM do things in common and speak with one voice. This attribute is really helping us in the day to day discharge of our duties. It has also been helping us to enjoy the cooperation of each other any time we have big programmes like the "Loose Him and let Him Go" and the "Great Love Convention" which are our annual evangelical programmes.


CONCLUSION
We recognize the hand of God upon every Man I Woman that is an usher in CLEM. We also thank God for his grace upon the life of our Mentor and Father, Bishop Tayo Odunuga. He has been an encourager to us and he has always been there for us to give necessary motivation and counsel. We love you Daddy! God bless you over and over again (Amen).
